Joel Kinnaman Joins Ron Moore’s Space Drama at Apple

Deadline reports that Joel Kinnaman (Altered Carbon, The Killing), Michael Dorman (Patriot), and Sarah Jones (Damnation) have been cast as the as leads on Ronald D. Moore’s new space drama series for Apple.

The untitled space drama series will focus on what would have happened if the global space race that swept the world by storm during the 1960s never ended. Kinnaman will play Edward Baldwin, one of the top NASA astronauts. Dorman and Jones will play Gordo and Tracy Stevens, one of the prominent NASA couples.

Ron Moore co-created the series with Fargo co-executive producers Matt Wolpert and Ben Nedivi. The project hails from Sony Pictures Television and Moore’s Tail Ship Productions.

Space-themed dramas have been a staple of Moore’s career whose other credits include Star Trek: The Next GenerationStar Trek: Voyager, Star Trek: Deep Space NineCapricaCarnivàle, and Outlander.

Joel Kinnaman has become most known for his recent work in Netflix’s adaptation of Altered Carbon and his role in Suicide Squad. He is currently slated to appear next in Amazon’s Hanna, a series adaptation of the original 2011 film from director Joe Wright. Kinnaman will be playing Erik.

There is no word yet on when this series will be released or where viewers can get a chance to see it.
