Tyler Posey Joins Comedy Series Now Apocalypse

Variety reports Tyler Posey, best known for his leading role on MTV’s Teen Wolf series, has signed on to a new television project for Starz in their upcoming comedy series Now Apocalypse. The half-hour series, greenlit back in March, is created and executive produced by Gregg Araki (Kaboom, Mysterious Skin).

This surreal, coming-of-age comedy series follows Ulysses and his friends Carly, Ford, and Severine, who are on various quests pursuing love, sex, and fame. Now Apocalypse explores identity, sexuality, and artistry while navigating the strange and oftentimes bewildering city of Los Angeles. Between sexual and romantic dating app adventures, Ulysses grows increasingly troubled as foreboding premonitory dreams make him wonder — is some kind of dark and monstrous conspiracy going on, or is he just smoking too much weed?

Posey is set to star in a recurring role as Gabriel, an incredibly charismatic and mysterious guy that Ulysses matches with on a dating app. During their highly-anticipated first date, they can hardly contain themselves.

The series also stars Avan Jogia, Kellia Berglund, Beau Mirchoff, and Roxane Mesquida. Araki will co-write and direct all 10 half-hour episodes of the sexy, vibrant, and fast-moving series that has a flipside of mythic, dreamlike creepiness.

Karley Sciortino, Vogue.com sex columnist and creator/host of Slutever on Viceland, will co-write alongside Araki, who is executive producing alongside the Oscar and Emmy Award-winning Steven Soderbergh (Logan Lucky, The Knick) and Gregory Jacobs (Magic Mike XXL, Red Oaks). Sciortino also serves as a consulting producer.

Posey’s other credits include roles on CW’s Jane the Virgin, the upcoming third season of Scream: The TV Series for MTV, and the features Truth or Dare and Kevin Smith’s Yoga Hosers comedy.
