The Coen Brothers Bring Fargo to Television

Joel and Ethan Coen have plans to bring their 1996 dark comedy Fargo to the small screen. The Hollywood Reporter brings word that the writer/director pair are going to produce a pilot episode for a Fargo series to air on FX.

The film, which starred Steve Buscemi, William H. Macy, Frances McDormand and Peter Stormare followed a North Dakota police chief, Marge Gunderson, and her investigation into a failed kidnapping and extortion scheme.

Noah Hawley (“Bones,” “My Generation”) will script the pilot episode with Warren Littlefield executive producting.

The next film from the Coen brothers, Inside Llewyn Davis stars Oscar Isaac, Carey Mulligan, Justin Timberlake, John Goodman and Garrett Hedlund and is planned for release sometime in 2013.
