Praise, Netflix! Streaming Service Saves Lucifer

Two Bonus Episodes of Lucifer to Air on FOX on May 28

Following the show’s recent cancellation as well as its series finale, FOX has announced that they will be airing two “bonus” episodes of Lucifer back-to-back on Monday, May 28. The two episodes, titled “Boo Normal” and “Once Upon a Time,” were produced during the show’s third season but did not air.

Starting with “Boo Normal” at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT, the first hour finds Lucifer (Tom Ellis) and the team investigating the murder of a child psychiatrist as Ella thinks about a big childhood secret that she’s been hiding. Then, in “Once Upon a Time,” after Lucifer’s mom creates an alternate dimension, Lucifer now lives in a world where he not only has never met Chloe but is granted the freedom of choice.

Lucifer is the story of the original fallen angel. Bored and unhappy as the Lord of Hell, Lucifer Morningstar abandoned his throne and retired to Los Angeles, where he has teamed up with LAPD detective Chloe Decker to take down criminals. The show ranks 10th and eighth among all FOX dramas this TV season and is down 20% in the demo from its sophomore season. Lucifer is averaging a 0.8 demo rating and 3.3 million total weekly viewers through April 30th.

The series is executive produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, Jonathan Littman, Idly Modrovich, and Joe Henderson. Lauren German, Kevin Alejandro, D.B Woodwise, Aimee Garcia, Tom Welling, Rachael Harris, Lesley-Ann Brandt, and Tricia Helfer also star. Guest cast includes Charlyne Yi, Madeleine Coghlan, Nadine Ellis, Neil Gaiman, Louis Herthum, Brian Tee, and David Meunier.
