Plans for a television version of Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Avon Oeming’s “Powers” have been on the table for more than a year, but FX elected not to move forward with the pilot as it was shot. Variety now reveals that the network still wants to see an adaptation happen although no new production date has been announced.
Likely to be recast, the original, unaired pilot starred Jason Patric as Detective Christian Walker and Lucy Punch as Detective Deena Pilgrim. Together, the two investigate superhero-related homicides.
“Powers” launched as a comic book in 2004 from Image Comics and is currently published by Marvel’s Icon imprint.
