The Path Creator Set to Spearhead NBC Pilot Suspicion

Variety reports that NBC has ordered a pilot for a drama series from Jessica Goldberg, the creator of the hit Hulu series The PathSuspicion is based on the novel by New York Times bestselling author Joseph Finder and is being described as a “Hitchcockian thriller,” not to be confused with the actual Hitchcock film with the same name starring Cary Grant and Joan Fontaine. The series will depict the lengths a man would endure to protect the ones he loves. Deadline provides a brief description of the intriguing story:

“After Danny Goldman accepts a handshake loan from his new friend and millionaire neighbor, he gets a visit from the FBI and learns that the decision is one he will regret for the rest of his life. Coerced to work as an informant for the FBI to earn back his freedom, Danny is forced to infiltrate a world of violence and corruption while trying to protect his family.”

Goldberg seemingly has a healthy working relationship with the network as she was previously a writer and executive producer on the hit series Parenthood. She will pen the script for Suspicion as well as tackle executive producing duties along with Keshet Studios’ Rachel Kaplan, Peter Traugott, Avi Nir, Alon Shtruzman and Finder.

The third season of The Path is currently streaming on Hulu with new episodes made available weekly.

There is no word as of yet on casting or when we can expect a potential air date.
