Another Thomas Harris Series is on the Way with Clarice

While NBC is gearing up for a full season of “Hannibal,” based on Thomas Harris’ famous fictional serial killer Hannibal Lecter, Lifetime is now said to be moving forward with their own series based on one of the author’s creations. TV Guide reports that the network is developing “Clarice,” based on the central protagonist of The Silence of the Lambs, FBI Agent Clarice Starling.

“Clarice,” which is wholly separate production from “Hannibal,” will focus on a young Starling and her adventures fresh of out the FBI Academy.

Clarice Starling is best known through the portrayal that Jodie Foster gave in 1991’s feature adaptation of The Silence of the Lambs. The role was later played by Julianne Moore in Ridley Scott’s cinematic followup, Hannibal in 2001.
