Bryan Fuller and Michael Green step down as showrunners for the Starz series American Gods

Showrunners Bryan Fuller and Michael Green have left the Starz series American Gods, according to Deadline. The series was renewed for a second season back in May, and according to the site, most of the scripts have already been written. There is a possibility that Neil Gaiman, who authored the award-winning novel the series is based on, might join as co-showrunner, though that is not confirmed at the moment.

Bryan Fuller and Michael Green created the adaptation of the novel American Gods and served as showrunners and executive producers. Fuller is also known for his work on HannibalPushing Daisies and Star Trek: Discovery. Green is known for his work on LoganBlade Runner 2049 and Alien: Covenant as well as the series Smallville.

Adapted from the award-winning novel by Neil GaimanAmerican Gods stars Ricky Whittle (The 100Austenland) as Shadow Moon, Ian McShane (DeadwoodRay Donovan) as Mr. Wednesday, Emily Browning (Sucker PunchLegend) as Laura Moon, and Pablo Schreiber (Orange is the New Black) as Mad Sweeney. Other cast members include Yetide Badaki (AquariusMasters of Sex) as Bilquis, Bruce Langley (Deadly Waters) as Technical Boy, Crispin Glover (Back to the Future) as Mr. World, and Orlando Jones (MadibaSleepy Hollow) as Mr. Nancy.
