FOX Sets Premiere Date for The X-Files and 9-1-1

FOX has announced two more premiere dates for the network, with Season 11 of The X-Files and the new Ryan Murphy drama 9-1-1 both set to premiere Wednesday, January 3. The X-Files will premiere at 8 PM, with 9-1-1 following at 9 PM.

The next chapter of The X-Files, a thrilling, 10-episode second installment of the event series, once again will be executive-produced by creator Chris Carter, with stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson returning in their roles as iconic FBI Agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully. In 2016, The X-Files drew an average multi-platform audience of nearly 16 million viewers and was the season’s No. 2 broadcast drama, as well as the most talked-about event series on Twitter.

The X-Files originally premiered in September 1993. Over the course of its nine-season run, the influential series went from breakout sci-fi favorite to massive global hit, and became one of the most successful television dramas of all time. The show, which earned 16 Emmy Awards, five Golden Globes and a Peabody Award, follows FBI special agents Scully and Mulder, as they investigate unexplained cases – “X-Files” – for which the only answers involve paranormal phenomena.

The X-Files is a production of 20th Century Fox Television in association with Ten Thirteen Productions. Chris Carter is the creator and executive producer of the series. Glen Morgan also serves as an executive producer.

From creators Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk (the American Horror Story franchise, Nip/Tuck), new procedural drama 9-1-1 explores the high-pressure experiences of police officers, paramedics and firefighters who are thrust into the most frightening, shocking and heart-stopping situations. These emergency responders must try to balance saving those who are at their most vulnerable with solving the problems in their own lives. The provocative series stars Academy and Emmy Award nominee Angela Bassett (American Horror Story, What’s Love Got to Do with It), Emmy Award- and Golden Globe-nominated actor Peter Krause (The Catch, Six Feet Under), Emmy Award-nominated actress Connie Britton (Nashville, Friday Night Lights)

9-1-1 is produced by 20th Century Fox Television in association with Ryan Murphy Television and Brad Falchuk Teley-Vision. The pilot is created, written and executive-produced by Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk. Tim Minear is an executive producer and will serve as showrunner.
