A&E Eyes Rosario Dawson’s O.C.T.: Occult Crimes Taskforce

Originally published by 12 Gauge Comics and later by Image Comics, “O.C.T.: Occult Crimes Taskforce” is being prepped for the small screen. The Hollywood Reporter has word that the series, created by actress Rosario Dawson, writer David Atchison and illustrator Tony Shasteen is being developed by “The Walking Dead” producer Gale Anne Hurd for A&E.

The first issue of the series, which was released in 2006, is officially described as follows:

When N.Y.P.D. detective Sophia Ortiz (modeled after Rosario Dawson) stumbles upon a bizarre murder scene, she is quickly brushed aside by a covert police unit – – the Occult Crimes Taskforce. Versed in the black arts and equipped with mystical weaponry, the O.C.T. keeps the streets of Manhattan safe from the unholy creatures of the night. Can Sophia help them stop this supernatural killer?

Hurd and Dawson will produce with Dawson likely to take on the role of Ortiz. Jorge Zamacona (“Third Watch) will script the pilot and will produce as well.
