Last Man Standing’s CMT Renewal Falls Through

Last Man Standing stands no more as The Hollywood Reporter brings word that CMT’s plans to revive the recently cancelled ABC Tim Allen series have fallen through, making the comedy’s return very unlikely at this stage.

Last Man Standing was originally cancelled by ABC after six seasons and 130 episodes. Tim Allen headlined the show as Mike Baxter, a conservative sporting-goods executive and father of three daughters played by Amanda Fuller, Molly Ephraim and Kaitlyn Dever. Nancy Travis played his wife, Vanessa, with Jordan Masterson starring as Baxter’s liberal son-in-law Ryan. Other regulars on Last Man Standing include Christoph Sanders as Kyle Anderson, Flynn Morrison as Boyd Baxter, Jonathan Adams as Chuck Larabee and Hector Elizondo as Ed Alzate.

Following word of the show’s initial cancellation, Allen took to Twitter, writing that he was, “Stunned and blindsided by the network I called home for the last six years.”

Last Man Standing, produced by 20th Century Fox Television, was created by Jack Burditt. Executive producers include Matt Berry, Tim Allen, Marty Adelstein, Becky Clements, Shawn Levy, Richard Baker and Rick Messina.
