Gotham EP Teases the Return of Jerome, New Photos Debut

For a show centered around many of the villains of Batman comics, Gotham hasn’t been able to shake the void left by its own Joker-esque Jerome, played by Cameron Monaghan. Speaking with Zap2It, executive producer John Stephens confirmed that the show “100%” intends to bring the character back.

“We’re building the architecture for him to come back,” he teased. “You’ll have these underground movements that have started to talk about Jerome and what he represented and how he’s going to come back like in the days of John the Baptist.”

Stephens went on to further tease plans should the series return for a fourth season in the fall of 2017, and that his eventual return will be “fantastic.”

In further Gotham news, you can check out two new photos from the series (via TV Line & TV Insider) below.

Gotham stars Ben McKenzie as Detective James Gordon, Donal Logue as Harvey Bullock, Michael Chiklis as Detective Nathaniel Barnes, Sean Pertwee as Alfred, Robin Lord Taylor as Oswald Cobblepot/The Penguin, Erin Richards as Barbara Kean, David Mazouz as Bruce Wayne, Camren Bicondova as Selina Kyle/the future Catwoman, Cory Michael Smith as Edward nygma/the future Riddler, Chris Chalk as Lucius Fox, and Jamie Chung as Valerie Vale, the aunt of future Batman love interest Vicki Vale.

New villains from the Batman lore are set to be present for the new season including The Court of Owls, Mad Hatter (The Walking Dead‘s Benedict Samuel), Solomon Grundy, and more. In addition, the new season will also see Poison Ivy undergoing a change with the character now set to be played by Maggie Geha, taking over for Clare Foley who played the character in the first two seasons of the series. It was revealed that the character finds herself “reborn as a 19-year-old woman who’s harnessed the full power of her charms and sets her sights on Bruce Wayne.”
