FOX Orders The Exorcist and Lethal Weapon TV Series

FOX has announced series orders for The Exorcist and Lethal Weapon TV series along with four other new shows

FOX has today announced series orders for six upcoming projects, including The Exorcist and Lethal Weapon TV series. Also on the list for series orders are the dramas A.P.B. and Pitch and the comedies Making History and The Mick. Look for all six shows to debut in the 2016-17 season.

As previously reported, The Exorcist series will offer a modern reinvention of the horror franchise, inspired by William Blatty‘s original 1971 book. Geena Davis, Ben Daniels, Kurt Egyiawan, Alfonso Herrera, Brianne Howey and Hannah Kasula are attached to star.

The Lethal Weapon TV series, meanwhile, offers a new take on the big screen action franchise with a cast that includes Clayne Crawford in the leading role of Martin Riggs and Damon Wayans Sr. as LAPD Detective Roger Murtaugh. Jordana Brewster, meanwhile, will play Dr. Maureen “Mo” Cahill.

“A tech billionaire purchases a troubled police precinct in the wake of a loved one’s murder,” reads the official series synopsis for A.P.B., “but can this eccentric and enigmatic figure’s cutting edge approach fix the broken ways of these blue blooded veterans?”

Pitch will follow Kylie Bunbury as a young pitcher who becomes the first woman to play in the major leagues.

Making History stars Adam Pally, Leighton Meester and Yassir Lester as a group of friends who find a way to travel through time and who decide to alter the past in an attempt to improve their present.

The Mick, finally, is headlined by It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia‘s Kaitlin Olson as “a hard-living, foul mouthed woman moves to affluent Greenwich, Connecticut to raise the spoiled kids of her wealthy sister who has fled the country to avoid a federal indictment.”
