NBC Picks Up Conan O’Brien’s Justice

Less than a week ago, it was announced that NBC had reached a $45 million agreement with Conan O’Brien ($33M to him, $12M to his staff) to end his short run as host of “The Tonight Show.” Now, NBC is back in business with him again.

The network has picked up an hour-long pilot from O’Brien’s production company, Conaco. The untitled project, known as “Justice,” was written by John Eisendrath and is a new take on a law show with a larger-than-life character at the center. It follows an ex-Supreme Court justice who quits the Court to start his own legal practice.

Eisendrath is executive producing, with O’Brien, his longtime executive producer Jeff Ross and Conaco’s David Kissinger also expected to serve as executive producers.

As part of O’Brien’s settlement with NBC, his NBC-based company was to continue to operate at NBC Uninversal through the end of the development season.
