NBC is developing a semi-scripted comedy from sitcom veteran Larry Charles (“Seinfeld,” “Mad About You”) and McG’s Wonderland production company, reports Variety.
The untitled project centers on a group of sci-fi fanboys in a small town who shoot their own version of a cancelled TV show. Charles is onboard to write, executive produce and direct the project.
Warner Bros. TV, where Wonderland Sound and Vision is based, is the studio on the sitcom.
Charles directed Sasha Baron Cohen’s Borat and Bruno. He is also the regular helmer on Larry David’s “Curb Your Enthusiasm.”
