Frances Conroy has joined the cast of the CBS comedy “Mike Birbiglia’s Secret Public Journal,” reports Variety.
The actress, best known for her role as Ruth Fisher on HBO’s “Six Feet Under,” will play Kathy, mom of Birbiglia’s character. It would be her first series regular part since “Six Feet” went under in 2005.
Also joining are Christine Woods, who recently appeared in the CBS laffer “Welcome to the Captain.” She’ll play Birbiglia’s girlfriend.
