CBS Picks Up Limitless, Rush Hour, Criminal Minds Spinoff and More

Following the announcement earlier this week that their new DC Comics Supergirl series has been given a full season order, CBS has announced that it has also picked up two new comedies and four new dramas, all of which should debut on the network later this year. Check out details on all six shows below!

Angel From Hell (Comedy, CBS Television Studios)

When Amy enters Allison’s life and claims to be her guardian angel, they form an unlikely friendship and Allison can’t be sure if Amy is an angel or just nuts.

Jane Lynch, Maggie Lawson, Kyle Bornheimer and Kevin Pollak star.

Tad Quill writes with Don Scardino directing the pilot. Both men also serve as executive producers.

Code Black (Drama, ABC Studios)

Medical drama set in the busiest and most notorious ER in the nation where the extraordinary staff struggle in the face of a broken system to protect their ideals and the patients who need them the most.

Marcia Gay Harden, Bonnie Somerville, Raza Jaffrey, Luis Guzman, Melanie Kannokada, Harry M. Ford, Ben Hollingsworth and William Allen Young star.

Michael Seitzman writes and also executive produces alongside Marti Noxon, Linda Goldstein-Knowlton, and David Semel. Semel also directs the pilot.

Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders (Drama, ABC Studios in association with CBS Television Studios and The Mark Gordon Company)

Focuses on a division of the FBI that helps American citizens who find themselves in danger abroad.

Gary Sinise, Daniel Henney and Tyler James star.

Executive producers include Mark Gordon, Erica Messer, Nick Pepper and Erica Messer. Messer also writes with Glenn Kershaw directing the pilot.

Life in Pieces (Comedy, Kapital Entertainment i/a/w 20th Century Fox Television)

A comedy about one family told through the separate stories of its different family members.

Dianne Wiest, James Brolin, Zoe Lister Jones, Colin Hanks, Angelique Cabral, Thomas Sadoski, Betsy Brandt, Dan Bakkedahl, Niall Cunningham, Holly J. Barrett and Giselle Eisenberg star.

Justin Adler writes with Jason Winer directing the pilot. Both also executive produce alongside Aaron Kaplan.

Limitless (Drama, CBS Television Studios i.a.w. K/O Paper Products and Relativity Media)

A drama based on the 2011 feature. The series follows Brian Finch as he discovers the power of the mysterious drug NZT, and is coerced into using his newfound drug-enhanced abilities to solve weekly cases for the FBI.

Jake McDorman, Jennifer Carpenter, Hill Harper and Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio star.

Marc Webb directs the pilot from a script by Craig Sweeny. Both executive produce alongside Alex Kurtzman,  Roberto Orci, Heather Kadin, Bradley Cooper, Todd Phillips, Ryan Kavanaugh, Tucker Tooley and Tom Forman.

Rush Hour (Drama, Warner Bros. Television)

A stoic, by-the-book Hong Kong police officer is assigned to a case in Los Angeles where he’s forced to work with a cocky African-American LAPD officer who has no interest in a partner.

Justin Hires, Jon Foo, Aimee Garcia and Wendie Malick star.

Bill Lawrence and Blake McCormick write and also serve as executive producers alongside Arthur Sarkissian, Brett Ratner and Jeff Ingold. Jon Turteltaub directs the pilot.
