Exclusive Clip From The Green

ComingSoon.net has your exclusive first look at a clip from the new episode of Sundance Channel’s “Big Ideas for a Small Planet.” The series is part of the channel’s The Green, which presents original series and documentary premieres about the earth’s ecology and concepts of “green” living that balance human needs with responsible care for the planet.

The new episode, titled “Create” and airing Tuesday at 9pm, profiles three artists: photographer Subhankar Banerjee, who has spent six years documenting the effects of global warming on biodiversity and indigenous cultures of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge; Alyce Santoro, who recycles discarded cassette audiotapes into Sonic Fabric, a highly functional material that can be heard as well as seen; and architect David Hertz, whose latest, audacious example of “upcycling” involves using a retired 747 airplane to create a client’s eco-friendly dream house.

The clip focuses on Subhankar Banerjee as he documents what effects global warming has had on the Arctic, but also shows what is beautiful as well.
