Clancy Brown Joins The Flash as General Wade Eiling

A name very familiar to DC Comics fans is headed to The CW’s The Flash! The Hollywood Reporter brings word that Clancy Brown, known to fans for voicing Lex Luthor on the animated “Justice League,” will play General Wade Eiling, who makes his first television appearance in episode five of the upcoming show. That’s the same episode previously confirmed to star Kelly Frye as the supervillainess Plastique.

Eiling made his first appearance in the premiere issue of “Captain Atom” in 1987. A military tactician, Eiling is tied to the origins of both Captain Atom and, later on, Major Force. Don’t be too surprised, though, if his origin is tweaked a bit to connect him to Plastique. According to the outlet, Eiling and his men will be on her tail in the hope of using her as a living weapon.

“The Flash” arrives from co-creators Greg Berlanti and Andrew Kreisberg, who, along with Geoff Johns, wrote the pilot episode which was helmed by “Arrow” pilot director David Nutter. Gustin will star as the titular hero along with Candice Patton as Iris West, Jesse L. Martin as Iris?s father, Detective West, Michelle Harrison as Barry?s mother Nora Allen and many others, including John Wesley Shipp, from the original “The Flash” TV series, as Barry?s father.

Set to premiere on October 7, “The Flash” will air on Tuesdays this fall.
