The Cast for MTV’s Scream TV Series Revealed, Jamie Travis to Direct Pilot

By ON

scream1Over a year ago, MTV officially gave the greenlight to a pilot for “Scream,” based on the popular franchise from Kevin Williamson and Wes Craven, and now the cast and crew for the film are officially set.

Willa Fitzgerald (“Royal Pains”) will lead the adaptation as Emma Duvall, a classic beauty whose looks and popularity hide a natural shyness and intellectual nature. She is joined by Amy Forsyth (“Reign”) as Audrey Jensen, the daughter of a Lutheran pastor who aspires to be a filmmaker; John Karna (“The Neighbors”) as Noah Foster, a creative computer genius with a vast knowledge of pop culture and the tech world and best friends with Audrey; Carlson Young (“The Kroll Show”) as Brooke Maddox, the charismatic leader of the popular crew whose personality vacillates between bubbly sweetness and ferocious sex appeal; and newcomer Amadeus Serafini as Kieran Wilcox, the mysterious new kid in town with a dark side and a tough exterior that hint at experience beyond his years.

Jamie Travis (For a Good Time, Call…, “Faking It”) will direct the pilot which was penned by Jay Beattie and Dan Dworkin (“Criminal Minds,” “Revenge”). Jill Blotevogel (“Harper’s Island,” “Ravenswood”) will serve as showrunner for the series.

“We are excited to be in business with the formidable Weinstein brothers,” said Susanne Daniels, President of Programming for MTV. “‘Scream’ is an iconic franchise, and MTV is the perfect network to bring this consistently surprising film to life on television.”

“SCREAM has been one of our largest and most treasured franchises at Dimension and we are thrilled to embark on the next chapter and join forces with a network that we love,” said Bob Weinstein, Co-Chairman The Weinstein Company and Dimension Films. “I am so pleased to be working with Susanne Daniels to bring this ground breaking franchise to MTV and continue its history.”

Jill Blotevogel (“Harper’s Island,” “Ravenswood”) is the executive producer and will showrun. Jay Beattie and Dan Dworkin (“Criminal Minds,” “The Event,” and “Revenge”) wrote the original script. Under the Dimension TV production umbrella, Harvey and Bob Weinstein will executive produce. Additional Executive Producers are Wes Craven, Marianne Maddalena and Cathy Konrad.
