Peter Stormare Brings a New Form of Vertigo to Arrow

(SPOILER NOTE: If you haven’t been watching The CW show “Arrow” this past season and plan to in the future, you may want to bypass reading this article that spoils the death of a major character.)

When the CW’s popular superhero series “Arrow” returns for its third season on Wednesday, October 8, they will be introducing a brand new version of Count Vertigo in the form of veteran character actor Peter Stormare.

Although the original Count Vertigo, played by Seth Gabel, died last season, Stormare will play Werner Zytle (Count Vertigo’s alias in the comics), dealer in a drug called Vertigo who also goes by the name Vertigo.

Stormare is one of the most prolific character actors in film, often playing villain roles as he did in the recent 22 Jump Street, Michael Bay’s Bad Boys II and others, plus he famously appeared in the Coen Brothers’ popular movies, Fargo and The Big Lebowski. He regularly appears in 7 to 10 movies and television shows in any given year.
