NBC has renewed their long-running drama “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” for a 16th season, the network announced today.
Currently airing its 15th season, “Law & Order: SVU” stars Mariska Hargitay, Danny Pino, Kelli Giddish, Ice-T and Raúl Esparza.
The 15th season is averaging a 2.5 rating, 7 share in adults 18-49 and 8.4 million viewers overall in “most current” averages from Nielsen Media Research, generating increases versus the prior season of +19% in adults 18-49 (2.5 vs. 2.1) and +16% or 1.2 million persons in total viewers (8.4 million vs. 7.2 million). “SVU” has built on its lead-in this season by +27% in adults 18-49 and +31% in total viewers, contributing to a +21% increase this season versus last for NBC’s regular Wednesday lineup in adults 18-49.
