If.com (via io9) has learned that "Farscape" executive producer Justin Monjo has been writing a screenplay for a spin-off film of the popular series. The site reports that the film would follow the end of the series, focusing on the child of characters John Crichton and Aeryn Sun, who it is said was hidden on Earth because he gained special abilities.
The focus of the film, which may be a television movie rather than a theatrical release, would see the child, now 19 years old, joining his parents on their spaceship for all kinds of cosmic adventures. Series co-creator Brian Henson would reportedly return to direct the film.
Created by Rockne S. O'Bannon and Brian Henson, the series ran from 1999 to 2003 for a total of 88 episodes. After its cancelation, it was revived as a mini-series called "Farscape: The Peacekeeper Wars," which is where the proposed spin-off film would pick up.
