Rome’s Indira Varma Joins Game of Thrones

is reporting that “Rome” actress Indira Varma has joined the fourth season of “Game of Thrones” in the role of Ellaria Sand. Varma’s character will be the lover for Pedro Pascal’s Prince Oberyn Martell in the series. She gave birth to four of his children, known as the “Sand Snakes” in the source material.

Based on the bestselling fantasy book series by George R.R. Martin, “Game of Thrones” is an epic story of treachery and nobility set on the continent of Westeros, where summers and winters can last years, and only the lust for power is eternal.
