Video: More Silent House Clips Have Come In

Two more film clips from Silent House have landed in our lap.  The movie is opening on March 9th and Shock spoke to star Elizabeth Olsen and directors Chris Kentis and Laura Lau this week, so stay tuned for those video interviews.

Synopsis: Sarah returns with her father and uncle to fix up the family’s longtime summerhouse after it was violated by squatters in the off-season. As they work in the dark, Sarah begins to hear sounds from within the walls of the boarded-up building. Although she barely remembers the place, Sarah senses the past may still haunt the home.

Exclusive Video: A Clip from Silent House

March 9th sees the release of Silent House, a new thriller starring Elizabeth Olsen that she shot shortly after wrapping principal photography on Martha Marcy May Marlene.  We have an exclusive clip to share inside which finds Olsen’s character, Sarah, getting spooked with a classic scare effect.

Directed by Chris Kentis and Laura Lau – the team behind Open Water – the film is a remake of La Casa Muda and concerns a young woman who joins her father and uncle at a summer home to clean the place up.  This endeavor descends into a night of terror for Sarah as strange noises and a mysterious figure begin to haunt her.

The film is inspired by a true story – an unsolved murder case that happened in a village in Uruguay in which three bodies were discovered mutilated.

Silent House Facebook App Launches

Open Road has taken its promo campaign for the upcoming Silent House to Facebook.  Experience Sarah Murphy’s fear first hand as she finds herself sealed in her family’s secluded lake house with “We All Have Secrets.”  Murphy is played by Elizabeth Olsen in the film, opening on March 9th.

Poster Revealed for Silent House Starring Elizabeth Olsen

Open Road – the distributor of The Grey – is poised to release another thriller this season called Silent House, starring Elizabeth Olsen (Martha Marcy May Marlene).  It is the latest film from Open Water’s Chris Kentis and Laura Lau and, today, the official poster was revealed.

Similar to the film from Uruguay it is based on, La Casa Muda, Silent House is told in one continuous shot. There is a true story behind this tale.  The film is inspired by an unsolved murder case that happened in a village in Uruguay in which three bodies were discovered mutilated.

Silent House Goes Viral, Exclusive New Photo Surfaces

Silent House, starring Elizabeth Olsen, is beginning a viral campaign in anticipation of its March 9 release.  

A red tin box showed up at our offices containing a bunch of goodies, including an exclusive image from the movie that is arriving from Open Road Films.

In Silent House, Olsen plays Sarah, a young woman who – with her father and uncle – fix up the family’s longtime summerhouse after it was violated by squatters in the off-season. As they work in the dark, Sarah begins to hear sounds from within the walls of the boarded-up building. Although she barely remembers the place, Sarah senses the past may still haunt the home.

New Photo of Elizabeth Olsen in Silent House

Open Road Films revealed a new photo from Silent House, the upcoming thriller that is told in real time with one continuous shot.  In the still, you’ll find star Elizabeth Olsen making her way through the eponymous abode.  The film – an American remake of La Casa Muda – is directed by Chris Kentis and Laura Lau, the duo behind Open Water, and opens March 9.
