The Australian sci-fi/horror thriller Crawlspace is making its U.S. debut on VOD January 4th. IFC is handling distribution. In anticipation of this release, we’ve added some images to our gallery for the film and we have a new trailer (watch it after the jump). Greg McLean (Wolf Creek) served as a producer on this one and Justin Dix makes his directorial debut.
Deep in the heart of the unforgiving Australian desert lies Pine Gap, a top-secret government facility operated by the United States military. When the base comes under attack from unknown forces, an elite team is sent in to extract the military scientists. They encounter a beautiful young woman with no memory of how she came to be in the base, and find it overrun by disturbed patients from the base
One of the film’s making their North American premiere at Screamfest here in Los Angeles is the Australian thriller, Crawlspace, produced by Wolf Creek helmer Greg McLean.
Written and directed by Justin Dix, the film follows a group of elite soldiers who infiltrate Australia’s top secret underground military compound. They quickly discover all is not as it seems and the facility is a testing ground for something far more sinister.
After the jump, you can find the trailer as well as the cool illustrated poster.
At the start of the year, we learned of a new thriller entitled Crawlspace. Directed by Josh Stolberg (Piranha 3D, Sorority Row), the film stars Steven Weber, Jonathan Silverman, Lori Loughlin, Nicole Moore and Sterling Beaumon. Stolberg directed from a script he co-penned with Nick Taravella.
The significant thing about the production was that the film was pushed through the production outfit known as Vuguru, a company that finances its own productions and distributes them across various VOD platforms (you may have seen their project The Booth at the End on Hulu).
A promo poster for Crawlspace – about a killer terrorizing a family in his foreclosed house – has been unveiled and you can find it after the jump. Stay tuned for a release date.
Josh Stolberg is at work on a new thriller entitled Crawlspace and the very first image from the production has surfaced; the photo demonstrates the extreme use of a garbage disposal and you’ll find a larger version of the image on the left after the jump.
The film has quietly been moving forward under the title Hideaway, but somewhere in its development the moniker changed.
Stolberg, if you recall, co-penned Piranha 3D and Sorority Row. His latest effort puts him in the director’s seat of a rather low-budget production which is geared for the VOD producer Vuguru.
