The adaptation we’ve been covering for year’s now, Cell, based on the novel by Stephen King, has officially rolled cameras under the direction of Tod “Kip” Williams. John Cusack and Samuel L. Jackson star.

Isabelle Fuhrman of Orphan and The Hunger Games is joining the cast, says Deadline. She’ll be taking the female lead.

Samuel L. Jackson Reunites With John Cusack for Another Stephen King Adaptation

The big screen adaptation of Stephen King’s Cell appears to be a 1408 reunion.  

The film, which has had John Cusack attached to star for some time, now has attracted Samuel L. Jackson, Cusack’s co-star of another King adaptation, 1408.

Sales Poster Art for Stephen King’s Cell, Starring John Cusack

Based on our last report in May, shooting was reportedly supposed to begin last month on Cell, based on the novel by Stephen King.  I don’t think cameras have started rolling quite just yet, but I have discovered a piece of sales art that will likely be used to tout the film at the American Film Market next month.

The film will be directed by Tod “Kip” Williams (Paranormal Activity 2) and John Cusack (1408) is attached to star.

Director Found to Adapt Stephen King’s Cell

Last fall we saw John Cusack being attached to an adaptation of Stephen King’s Cell which is now being developed at Cargo Entertainment.

Today, we learn Tod Williams (Paranormal Activity 2) is going to direct.  The project was once a directing vehicle for Eli Roth when the adaptation was set up at Dimension Films.

 Screen Daily reports King and Adam Alleca (The Last House on the Left) penned the script and production is expected to begin this May.

John Cusack to Star in Stephen King’s Cell

Screen Daily is reporting that John Cusack (1408, Stand by Me) is getting back into the Stephen King business, signing to star in Cargo Entertainment’s Cell. The novel is described as follows:
