Cassadaga

Anthony DiBlasi’s Cassadaga Is An After Dark Films Release in the UK, DVD…

The director of Dread, Anthony DiBlasi, followed up his Clive Barker adaptation with a supernatural thriller entitled Cassadaga.  The film made its premiere at Screamfest in Los Angeles last fall; since then, we’ve been awaiting word on distribution.

It appears the film was picked up in the UK for a DVD release on April 16th, and it is being branded as an After Dark film.  If you recall, After Dark also released Dread here in the U.S.  I wonder if they’ve acquired the picture for a U.S. release as well?

Cassadaga is the story of Lily More, played by Kelen Coleman (The Office), who seeks solace at the spiritualist community of Cassadaga. But instead of finding closure, she contacts something else

New Artwork for Anthony DiBlasi’s Cassadaga

To your left, the latest poster art created for Cassadaga, the supernatural thriller from Anthony DiBlasi.

The director last helmed the Clive Barker adaptation Dread.

Comparatively speaking, this art is tame next to the festival one-sheet that came out when Cassadaga made its premiere at Screamfest in Los Angeles last October.

Kevin Alajandro, Louise Fletcher, J. LaRose and Kelen Coleman star in the film.

The story goes like this: Devastated by the death of her younger sister, Lily Morel seeks solace at the spiritualist community of Cassadaga. But instead of finding closure, she contacts something else – the vengeful ghost of a murdered young woman. With her life crumbling all-around her, Lily races to unravel the mysterious circumstances surrounding the woman’s death – a task that will bring her face-to-face with a sadistic serial killer known only as “Geppetto.”
