Following a recent Emmy win for the series' writing, FX has announced that their popular comedy/drama series "Louie" will be taking a break until 2014 at the request of writer/director/star Louis C.K.

C.K., who has performed as a standup comedian since 1984, has written and directed every episode of the show since it launched in 2010. In addition to his stage comedy, C.K. is known for a recurring role on "Parks and Recreation" and for feature film roles in projects like The Invention of Lying and Welcome Home, Roscoe Jenkins. He directed the 2001 comedy Pootie Tang and will soon star in Woody Allen's still-untitled 2013 release.

"Louie" concluded its third season late last month and is expected to resume production in September 2013 with episodes targeted to begin airing in May 2014.
