The CW is planning a present-day take on Lewis Carrol's "Alice in Wonderland," says a story at The Hollywood Reporter. The proposed series, to be titled "Wunderland," will recast the heroine as a young detective in Los Angeles who discovers a secret world that exists beneath the city.

Chad Hodge ("Runaway," "The Playboy Club") is attached to script the pilot episode with McG and Peter Johnson executive producing.

Plans for "Wunderland" follow the network's upcoming contemporary take on "Beauty and the Beast" and the proposed pilot for a contemporary update of "Sleepy Hollow."
