Returning for a fifth season this summer, HBO's "True Blood" has snared a new cast member and it's one with vampire experience. Deadline reports that Christopher Heyerdahl, best known for his role as the elder Vampire Marcus in The Twilight Saga, will play another creature of the night in the the popular adaptation of the Charlaine Harris books.

Heyerdahl will play Dieter Braun, described in recent a casting call as follows:

40s to 50s. Mature and self-possessed, calm and authoritative, with a piercing gaze, this vampire of average build is nevertheless extremely intimidating, and he uses innovative methods to torture a prisoner during an interrogation…

Now in production, "True Blood" season five has yet to announce exactly when it will return to HBO, though you can read some hints about what to expect from co-executive producer Raelle Tucker by clicking here.
