2012 TV Series in the Works

November 5, 2009

2012 director Roland Emmerich told Entertainment Weekly that a TV version of his upcoming disaster movie is already in development. Mark Gordon ("Grey's Anatomy," "Private Practice") is on board to executive produce.

[Spoilers about the movie ahead!]

"The plan is that it is 2013 and it's about what happens after the disaster," Emmerich told the magazine. "It is about the resettling of Earth. That is very, very fascinating."

Emmerich added that he thinks the show "will focus on a group of people who survived but not on the boats... maybe they were on a piece of land that was spared or one that became an island in the process of the crust moving."

EW says that Gordon is rumored to be in talks with ABC for the disaster drama. Gordon said: "After the movie, there are some people who survive and the question is how will these survivors build a new world and what will it look like. That might make an interesting TV series."

Why! Why! Why! Why! Why do they always have to ruin a perfectly bad movie with an even worse tv series? I guess we'll never know, but now that I know how the movie ends I should be happy, they just saved me 12 bucks.

I saw this film last night. It's awful. Really long starring john cusack as john cusack! Avoid a tv series by not going to see this racist go america rubbish. In the end, the white americans colonise africa. Mental.

I mean, I think we all assumed that people were going to live at the end of the movie....But you never know, it could have been different and interesting for once....but now the ending has been ruined for us......Thanx for nothing

First of all... are you guys seriously complaining about a website spoiling the movie? Even after they just warned you of said spoilers. And did anyone really think everyone was going to die?

That being said, I like Roland Emmerich's films (with the exception of maybe Godzilla), I fully intend to see this film and tv series, just as I saw his other films and Stargate SG-1...even though he had nothing to do with the latter.
