Jennifer Garner and ABC Sign First-Look Deal

Jennifer Garner has sealed a first-look production deal with ABC Studios, reports Variety. She starred for five seasons on ABC's "Alias" as Sydney Bristow.

The deal covers her Vandalia Films production company, which is looking to get into the TV business. Garner runs Vandalia with Juliana Janes; the duo has a first-look pact with Warner Bros. for feature films.

The duo said they hope to bring feature writers to the TV side and also work with writers they had met during Garner's stints on "Alias" and "Felicity."

Garner and Janes said they're looking toward developing female-driven material such as "Grey's Anatomy."

"(ABC Entertainment topper) Steve McPherson and I have a great relationship and have been talking about doing something together for some time now. It's been over three years since the finale of 'Alias,' " Garner said, adding that she was looking forward "to have the opportunity to get back into television wearing my producer hat."

fem⋅i⋅nism
–noun
1. the doctrine advocating social, political, and all other rights of women equal to those of men.

Feminism is not the same thing as "female-driven."

Bridget Jones Diary and Ally McBeal are "female-driven", meaning the leading characters are female. A show can be female-driven without doing anything to bring equality to the sexes, as a feminist show would do.

I really hate to hear this! ABC sucks! What that network did to ALIAS,constantly moving nights and long hiatus just to accomadate they're crap shows like "Lost","Desperate Whores" and "Greys Anatomy" is unforgivable! Same goes for J.J. Abrams-he practically dumped ALIAS in favor of "Lost" and that stupid ass Tom Cruise movie "MI3"!
I hope ABC doesn't screw Jennifer over too!

I've always hoped some one would address the disproportionate amount of movies, and TV, that actors have had the lead, and actresses the supporting roles. It's about time that this was addressed by actually doing something about it. I love the idea!!! Jen's been my favorite actress sine ALIAS, and I hope she'll have the time to star in some of shows she produces.
Way to go Jen!!!!
