ComingSoon.net has your exclusive first look at a "SGU: Stargate Universe" character profile of Camile Wray, played by Ming-Na in the upcoming SyFy show coming this fall.

"SGU" follows a band of soldiers, scientists and civilians, who must fend for themselves as they are forced through a Stargate when their hidden base comes under attack. The desperate survivors emerge aboard an ancient ship, which is locked on an unknown course and unable to return to Earth. Faced with meeting the most basic needs of food, water and air, the group must unlock the secrets of the ship’s Stargate to survive. The danger, adventure and hope they find on board the Destiny will reveal the heroes and villains among them.

If you are attending Comic-Con in San Diego, the "SGU: Stargate Universe" panel is at 10:30AM in Ballroom 20 on Friday, July 24. The presentation will include a first look at footage from the show that will probably not be shown anywhere again! Attending the panel will be Robert Carlyle, Brian J. Smith, Elyse Levesque, David Blue, Alaina Huffman, Jamil Walker Smith and Ming-Na alongside series co-creators Brad Wright and Robert Cooper.

I think they want this to be their next BSG

I dislike both other Stargate series, but I do think I'm going to love this show... Or so I hope

They keep saying there is no way back to earth, but the ship apparently makes scheduled stops so they can explore planets. Why can't they get off the ship and use the stargate on the planet to go back to earth? The show sounds stupid and I predict 1 season.

To answer Geoff's question about dialing back to earth from a gate on a random planet. They're in another galaxy, when dialling to another galaxy the stargate requires alot more power, power I'm guessing isnt availible to them :).

I'm just not feeling the attraction to this show like I did for the other Stargates.
But Ming Na and David Blue seem like nice people, so hopefully they won't be disappointed by this career move.

Geoff: I believe I read somewhere that the new universe that they get stuck in doesn't have stargates. Even if they did there is the matter of the extra chevon to jump between galaxy's and the extra power so maybe that'll just be a factor. Who knows?

I remember hearing that the Destiny mission was to drop Stargates throughout the galaxies.

Cheesy like Atlantis?!? SG1 was sort of cheesy (at times good, but at times really, really cheesy), but Atlantis? Other than a couple (3-4) clearly comediac episodes during the five season run, Atlantis was far,far from cheesy.

/agree Atlantis was NOT cheesy. But long live Stargate! This series is going to rule and will NOT be a BSG clone but hopefully something better!!
