Christian Slater in Talks for The Forgotten

July 1, 2009

Christian Slater ("My Own Worst Enemy") is in negotiations to star in ABC's new series "The Forgotten," says The Hollywood Reporter.

"Forgotten," from WBTV and producer Jerry Bruckheimer, is a mystery drama revolving around a group of amateur detectives led by a former cop (Slater) whose 11-year-old daughter was kidnapped three years before.

The project is recasting after being picked up to series in May to air at 10 p.m. Tuesdays starting Sept. 22.

Slater would replace British actor Rupert Penry-Jones, who played the lead in the pilot. Another role, that of a female member of the sleuth squad, also is being recast.

Ooh now I might be interested. I think I'm the only person who enjoyed "My Own Worst Enemy". Had it continued he could have won awards. he truly did a good job playing two different characters. He could walk in the room with a gleam in his eye or a shuffle in his step and you knew which one he was.

Reiko Aylesworth was in the pilot but sadly, her part is being recasted for some reason. Really sucks because I would love to see her in another tv series.

sounds great for slater is one of the actors that are really good but for some reason you don't see them in big movies anymore so i glad he is getting a steady gig for hopefully this will get him the recongition he needs to get him back onto the big screen. Also he was great in the my own worst enemy and its to bad they cancelled

I am a fan of Slaters but anyone who thinks worst enemy was good is foolish. That show sucked and this one sounds like crap as well. I was so happy enemy failed after NBC tried to force it down our throats. Any show or movie with that kind of promotion usually sucks badly and they try to overcome it with a barrage of promotion almost making you think you have to watch it.

Don't worry Ryan, I liked My Own Worse Enemy too and I knew a few people at my office who really liked it as well. Was very disappointed it went away. But I'll be interested to see how Slater does in this one.
