Reaper Star Peregrym Finds Copper

June 28, 2009

The Hollywood Reporter says that "Reaper" co-star Missy Peregrym will play lead of Canadian cop drama "Copper," which will air on ABC.

The show centers on Andy McNally (Peregrym), a newly minted cop fresh from the academy and the daughter of a homicide detective. She is anxious about her first day on the job, which doesn't go as well as she had wished.

ABC acquired "Copper" in April from Canadian producer E1.

Filming on the series, which has a 13-episode order, is scheduled to begin shortly in Toronto.

There are alot of cop dramas on television right now but on a positive note I think Missy Peregrym is a good actress. I loved her in Heroes (thankfully she was in the first season cause that was the only season that was enjoyable) and she was good in that one drama show on abc about a bunch of kids in highschool (shame I am trying to defend her and idk the show she was in). I can't speak much for reaper as I have not seen it.

Well, Reaper was one of my favorite shows in the last five years, Such a shame it is gone. That being said, I will NOT watch this "cop drama" after ABC cancelled my other favorite series, "The Unusuals." Yes, it was a cop show with some drama, but above all, it was funny as balls, and the characters were all enjoyable. After LOST finishes, me and ABC are done professionally.

If it comes from Canada, I will not watch it. Their work has been getting worse every year since "Forever Knight" ended in '96. They have not come up with anything half as good as that one was, and I do not think they ever will. The production values, directing, and acting on their stuff now is truly horrible. I don't know how Canadian viewers put up with this ****. They deserve better.

I agree with Some Guy. Bring back The Unusuals. I don't see the point of replacing it with another, probably inferior cop show. I only watched Lost, Ugly Betty and The Unusuals on ABC.

She is incredibly hot, so I might tune in just because of that. Otherwise, this isn't blowing anybody's skirt up as I can tell.

@ C.J.

Honestly, most of the stuff that is made in Canada by Canadians is not generally liked by the Canadian viewers. The shows score WAY higher in the bordering states such as New York, Michigan, Ohio, Mass. etc. I'm Canadian and I think 95% of the stuff we make is garbage. There is one show right now that is very well done; Flashpoint. It's a pretty intense cop show (yeah, yeah, another cop show).

@ Some Guy

Yeah, the only reason I watched ABC was for LOST and The Unusuals (they cancelled that!?!?). LOST has one season left then after that, there is no point. I thought FOX was bad for cancelling promising shows, but this is ridiculous.
