Quaid, Sheen and Moore Have Special Relationship

Dennis Quaid will star as President Clinton, Michael Sheen will portray British Prime Minister Tony Blair and Julianne Moore will play Hillary Clinton in "The Special Relationship," an HBO film about the unique and sometimes turbulent political relationship between the newly installed PM and the U.S. president.

The film isn't greenlit yet but is expected to mark the directing debut of Frost/Nixon playwright Peter Morgan, who wrote the screenplay.

Sheen, who starred as David Frost in Frost/Nixon, played Blair in the Morgan-scripted The Deal and The Queen. Helen McCrory, who played Cherie Blair in The Queen, will reprise that role in "The Special Relationship."

Good cast, especially Michael Sheen reprising Tony Blair. Kind of surprised to see Julianne Moore as Hillary, though I think she'll be fantastic. I'm really glad that Morgan is using Sheen again...keeping my fingers crossed that he gets some award show love this time around.

Hillary should be played by Hope Davis. An uncanny resemblance.

i really dont like the cast other than Michael Sheen whos probably going to be playing Tony Blair for the rest of his life. Julianne Moore just doesnt cut it for Hilary i dont think. I think someone like Annette Bening. As for Dennis Quaid he just doesnt seem like a good choice either. we need someone who's a weasle and i think John Travolta might do well

I think the relationship between Blair and Bush is a much more interesting one than the Blair/Clinton one. This is for the simple reason that Blair and Bush should have been political foes, yet were even closer than B/C ever were; this despite that the latter two should have been political soulmates.

Quaid played a thinly disguised Bush in American Dreams - I think he's a better fit for him than for Clinton, TBH.
