ABC Family will again have a "Harry Potter" weekend, this time taking place from December 5-7. The network will air the first four installments of the popular film series as part of the network's "25 Days of Christmas" programming event. In the world television premiere of the special extended edition of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, viewers will also see deleted scenes not included in the original film version.

ABC Family will also be airing exclusive first looks at Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (opening in theatres July 17, 2009) throughout the weekend's three-day event. Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, Emma Watson and Michael Gambon discuss the upcoming film's exciting storylines, as well as revealing insider information. ABC Family's first looks at the latest "Harry Potter" feature film also offer viewers a sneak peek of never-before-seen footage of love running rampant through Hogwarts, a look into Tom Riddle's past and an introduction of Professor Horace Slughorn.

The "Harry Potter" weekend schedule is as follows:

(9:00 PM – 12:00 AM ET/PT) "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban"

"Why are they doing this now when it will be over a year anyway before we get to see the new movie anyway? Why can't they just release it sooner? Who cares about whos releasing other big movies? Those who are Faithful to the Harry Potter Series will turn out to see the series continue."

Yeah, and why can't they just release it right now? Or better yet, why can't they just send the film directly to my house? Or even better, why can't I just plug my head into the computer so they can download the movie right into my brain. I have Road Runner, afterall, so it should be a fairly painless download.

*END SARCASM*

And as Bellatrix pointed out, the release is certainly not "over a year." You can actually count all of the remaining months on your fingers!

While I'd love to see all of the behind-the-scenes stuff, new footage, and interviews, I'm not sure it's worth watching the movies all weekend when I own them on DVD. I'd rather not sit in front of the TV the whole weekend just to see a few minutes of HBP promos.

So what I'm getting at is this: will the stuff on ABC Family be posted on here afterwards to watch like it has been with previously installments?

Honestly, if you want to see a sneak peak at this film go to the movies. They are already showing the trailer. It was shown at the beginning of Twlight.
I would also suggest, read the book. Anyone who knows this book knows that this is going to be the darkest HP yet.
Personally, I can't wait. I'm only bummed because every other HP came out in November to catch that Christmas rush....we have to wait till July of next year :-( Bummer.
As for ABC showing HP all the time? Well, they do however I believe the high point is that they are showing them back to back to catch people up to speed.
My thoughts.

New footage? Kewl! That is the reason I own a DVD recorder and not a DVR. I can record the updated GOF on disc, post it to my PC, upload my original GOF vid, then edit the new stuff in with the old. It's a small comfort for someone who would have LOVED the later HP movies to be three hours long apiece, but the extra footage from GOF will serve, for now.

I wish they would give estimated times on when They will be showing the never before seen footage of the 6th movie. I do work this weekend, so I hope that if I miss this, someone will post it on youtube, or something so I can see it.
