CBS today announced the 18 castaways who will compete on SURVIVOR: GABON - EARTH'S LAST EDEN, when the 17th installment of the Emmy Award-winning series premieres for the first time in high-definition Thursday, Sept. 25 (8:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

Marooned in the wilderness, 18 individuals will embark on an amazing African adventure, battling extreme conditions and interacting with wildlife such as elephants and gorillas, while attempting to forge alliances with strangers from diverse backgrounds. "In a strange coincidence to Earth's Last Eden - good vs. evil emerges as a major theme this season. I think the audience will quickly identify with one group or the other," host Jeff Probst teases. Will the group of deceitful castaways outlast those individuals who play from their heart or will the forces of evil prevail? Will temptations interfere with logical decision-making? More importantly, which side will come out on top?

In a SURVIVOR first, the magnificent landscape, natural elements, and fascinating wildlife featured on Earth's Last Eden will be enjoyed by viewers in high-definition, enhancing the overall experience of the show. Probst claims, "Shooting in HD is like adding another character to the show. The detail is so sharp you can't help but feel as though you are experiencing the adventure yourself."

I love Survivor, but it hasn't been as good lately. The first 10 or 11 season were real people. True fan's of the game. Most of the people over the last few seem more "Hollywood" and are just looking to make a name for themself. It's too produced. They don't show enough of the everyday camp life like they used to. Now it's just the opening, drama from last shows tribal, reward challenge, the person on exile's search, immunity challenge, arguing over who to vote off, then tribal. Plus they are starting to use a lot of similar challenges. Also, they keep going around some of the same islands. Fans vs. Faves was the same as the Westman Season, and they have used Panama I think 3 times. I love the idea of going back to Africa. That was the season where the Survivor's were the worst off in terms of food & whatnot, but nowadays too, it's more of a vacation as opposed to some of the older seasons.

And Rupert is not the best Survivor ever. He is one of my favorites, but not the best.

Top 5 Men in no particular order:

Tom Westman(definitely the best ever)
Richard Hatch
Ozzy
Mike Skupin(would have won Australia)
Boston Rob

Top 5 Women(in no particular order)

Shii Ann
Amber
Eliza
Cirie
Ami

Most Overrated Male: Rupert(Brut Strength doesn't make a good Survivor. He had terrible balance, he was too nice, and was not the brightest bulb in the package.)

Most Overrated Female: Stephanie (I am not going to give reasons, because I would be here all day.)

Best Looking Female: Ami(Totally Hot)
Best Looking Male: Colby(No Homo)

Dumbest Survivor Ever: Erick (Fans vs. Faves)

Greatest Underdog: Chris Daughtery(Broke through the girls alliance)

Biggest Backstab: Dreamz screwing Yao Man

Best Alliance: The Original 4: Rudy, Sue, Kelly & Hatch

Biggest Twist: Shii Ann getting dooped into believing the tribes were merge, then getting voted off.

Most misunderstood Survivor: Penner

Most likeable Survivor: Yao Man

Best Under the Radar Survivor: Sandra(won it all)

The best Villan: Johnny "Fairplay"

Season with the best challenges: Survivor Panama

Worst Season: Survivor Amazon

Greatest Season of Survivor: Survivor: Africa
