USA Today reports that DC Comics will offer a prequel comic to J.J. Abrams' (upcoming Star Trek, "M:i:III," "Lost," "Alias") fall TV series "Fringe," a thriller that will premiere on Fox on September 9. According to the newspaper, they are currently looking at writers and artists for the prequel, which will hit the stands on August 27.

Joshua Jackson ("Dawson's Creek"), John Noble ("The Lord of the Rings") and newcomer Anna Torv star as an unlikely trio who uncover a deadly mystery involving a series of unbelievable events and realize they may be a part of a larger, more disturbing pattern that blurs the line between science fiction and technology.

You can watch the trailer for the pilot at the official website.

First, if Abrams forgets about this after the pilot like he did with Lost, well, I can't do anything about it, but he seriously better not.
Second, stop including Lost in Abrams filmography - he made the pilot (and co-wrote another episode, big deal) - he isn't involved in the series anymore.
He's a good director and writer (M:I:3 was awesome in my opinion, and Lost's pilot was done beautifully for the most part), and I like his shows, and so I'm definitely watching this one.
