Fox has given the green light for casting to begin on the one-hour project "Inseparable" from "Invasion" creator Shaun Cassidy and ABC Studios.

However, the project has not been picked up to pilot, a process that has been stalled by the writers strike, says The Hollywood Reporter.

Cassidy first developed "Inseparable" -- a modern-day Jekyll and Hyde tale about a partially paralyzed forensic psychiatrist with a split personality whose alter ego is a charismatic criminal -- during the 2003-04 development season, when it was set up at CBS through Universal.

It was resurrected in the fall when Cassidy, through his overall deal at ABC Studios, pitched it to Fox before the strike.

The network bought it and asked for a revised draft. Before Cassidy was able to complete it, the writers walkout began.

Fox is proceeding with casting on "Inseparable." But there will be no official pilot order to the project until the network sees Cassidy's new draft, which he will finish after the end of the strike.
