Australia's filmmaking collective Blue-Tongue Films already made a lasting impression at the Sundance Film Festival a few years back, which may have been why Kieran Darcy-Smith's thriller wish you were here was selected as one of the opening night films for this year's festival.

It stars Blue-Tongue regular Joel Edgerton as a family man who takes a trip down to Cambodia with his pregnant wife, played by Felicity Price--who co-wrote the screenplay with Darcy-Smith (who also happens to be her husband)--her younger sister (Teresa Palmer) and her new boyfriend Jeremy. One night, they're out partying and Jeremy disappears leaving the other three to return home to Sydney to deal with the repercussions.

Although the terrors of traveling abroad have been explored in various horror films over the years, Darcy-Smith's film is more of a drama showing how one family deals with an unsolved disappearance while traveling. The reason it works so well is due to three terrific performances, but Price is clearly the standout, possibly because we haven't seen her in as many films on these shores as the other two actors.

ComingSoon.net had a chance to sit down with the cast of Darcy-Smith's feature length debut, though sadly, the director was MIA that day. Since his wife Felicity Price had co-written the script and had been on board every step of the way we spoke to her first about the process of pulling the project together.
