Exclusive: James McTeigue Unleashes Ninja Assassin !

Most moviegoers will remember director James McTeigue from his directorial debut on the adaptation of Alan Moore and David Lloyd's graphic novel V For Vendetta a couple years back, though he'd already been heavily involved with action from working with the Wachowskis for many years on "The Matrix" trilogy as well as working on the second "Star Wars" prequel.

His new movie Ninja Assassin really allows him to flex some of those action muscles on his own, because a lot of the movie involves the title character, played by Korean pop sensation Rain, in epic ninja battles using all sorts of martial arts moves and weapons to fend off his enemies. McTeigue stages these scenes almost like art, the blood spraying like paint and the body parts flying in all...

Producer Provides Update on Silent Hill 2

ShockTillYouDrop.com talked exclusively to Silent Hill producer Don Carmody about the possible sequel to the video game adaptation . Here's a clip:

"I think we need to make it a little more accessible to the movie-going public," he says frankly. "Silent Hill is not a blockbuster game like Resident Evil or the other games out there. It's a connoisseurs' game. It has its own, rabid fan base. They're not cheap, these things. You have to appeal not only to the gamers, you have to appeal to a wider audience. So we have to get some story in there that helps explain a bit more. I think that's all happening. Of course, [the story] is going to happen years later and the main character - without giving too much away - is much older and representative to the movie-going...

Exclusive: John Hillcoat Hits The Road

At this point, it's far too easy and obvious to make the joke about what a "long road" it's been for John Hillcoat's adaptation of Cormac McCarthy's post-apocalyptic novel The Road to finally arrive in theaters. As both the eager and dubious fan of McCarthy's novel will learn next week, it's been worth the wait.

How the Australian filmmaker behind Nick Cave's The Proposition got involved in trying to adapt McCarthy's difficult work even before it was published is almost as fascinating a story as McCarthy's tale of a father (Viggo Mortensen) trying to survive and protect his young son (newcomer Kodi Smit-Mcphee) in a world that's been turned into a barren wasteland after an apocalyptic event. As the man desperately tries to find food for his son and himself, they're...

Don Murphy and Susan Montford's Angryfilms has optioned Lauren McLaughlin's young-adult book series "Cycler," says The Hollywood Reporter .

The novels tell the story of Jill, a suburban teenager who for four days each month turns into Jack, complete with male anatomy and 17-year-old-boy fantasies. Jill has maintained her life of ordinary teenage worries, such as going to the prom and dealing with crush, but that changes when Jack, tired of being locked in his room, begins to escape, causing damage to her social life.

Random House for Young Readers published the book last year and followed it with a sequel, "Re-Cycler"; more are on the way.
