Summary:
If you enjoy movies like When Harry Met Sally or Sleepless in Seattle, you'll find A Lot Like Love entertaining and fun.

Story:
Oliver (Ashton Kutcher) and Emily (Amanda Peet) randomly meet at an airport and immediately there is an intense spark and chemistry between them. However, after their flight they go their separate ways, but continue to meet up with each other over the course of seven years.

The romantic comedy focuses solely on the lives of Oliver and Emily and the screen heats up when every time they get together. They are a goofy and wacky pair who knows they really love each other, but life just keeps getting in the way.

A Lot Like Love is rated PG-13 for sexual content, nudity and language.

What Worked:
I admit I have stayed away from most Ashton Kutcher movies, but I really enjoyed this one. The chemistry between Amanda Peet and Kutcher is amazing and is very funny. I loved the way they played off of each other and they weren't afraid to let go and act like two annoying people who are so in love they can do anything around the other. It's easy for the audience to want this couple to be together because they're so likeable and great together.

The story is simple, but works. Two people meet, but aren't ready for a real relationship; however their chemistry and infatuation for each other is too strong to let go. It also works because Emily thinks she is better than Oliver in the beginning and it's about the chase for him.

The characters are ones I think we can all relate to. As a recent college grad, Oliver has a plan and he can't settle down and meet the right girl until he has his life together. So he's resistant to being in a relationship. Emily has just broken up with her boyfriend and is lost. Throughout the seven years of the couple's random encounters, we see her change the most and go through several transitions that are hilariously believable.

What Didn't Work:
When Oliver and Emily first meet, she is a punk rock chick who thinks she's tougher than she is and he's a geeky wanna be business guy. I don't think a punk rocker would even look twice at someone like Oliver much less be attracted to him.

After their first meeting, Emily and Oliver don't talk or see each other for three years. She calls him because she broke up with yet another boyfriend. I would have a hard time picking up the phone and calling someone after three years of first meeting them. But, hey in a drunken moment it could happen.

Bottom Line:
I can't compare this movie to other Ashton Kutcher films, but this one is good and it's hilarious. Peet and Kutcher carry this movie well and give a great interpretation of their idea of being in love. It's definitely worth checking out.
