While it was previously revealed that Marvel's The Avengers would have a presence at the New York Comic Con, Marvel Studios has now sent out the following press release about the event.

The New York Comic Con has posted its panel line-up which reveals that Marvel Studios will be debuting new footage from Marvel's The Avengers on Saturday, October 15 from 6:30pm - 7:30pm in the IGN Theater.

ComingSoon.net talks with director Alex Proyas (I, Robot, Dark City), about his new sci-fi thriller Knowing, starring Nicholas Cage, of which two extended disaster scenes were previewed at this past weekend's New York Comic-Con.

Disney Pictures attended the New York Comic-Con on Saturday to show off a couple of their upcoming movies. We already gave a preview of Pixar Animation's next movie Up yesterday--you can read that here--but after showing some clips from that movie, the remainder of Disney's presentation was dedicated to Surrogates, an adaptation of the graphic novel directed by Terminator 3 director Jonathan Mostow.

The 4th Annual New York Comic-Con was in full swing on Saturday, and the programming in the IGN Theater kicked off with a well-attended Warner Bros. presentation for their upcoming movie slate, including footage from Zack Snyder's Watchmen, introduced by creator Dave Gibbons, and McG's Terminator: Salvation.

Actor Jeremy Renner tells ComingSoon.net that he's looking at possibly taking a role in Sylvain White's The Losers, based on the Vertigo graphic novel, during his break from the new ABC drama "The Unusuals."

Nearly four months before its scheduled release, Disney and Pixar Animation gave a select group of journalists an early look at Pete (Monsters Inc.) Docter's next movie Up, showing 45 minutes of the unfinished film as a sneak preview to the debut of the footage at the New York Comic-Con the next day.

Universal Pictures has provided us with the New York Comic-Con posters for Wanted (June 27), starring James McAvoy, Morgan Freeman and Angelina Jolie, and Hellboy II: The Golden Army (July 11), with Ron Perlman, Selma Blair, Doug Jones, Luke Goss and Anna Walton.
