Sony Pictures announced today that the Carrie remake has been pushed back from its March 15 release to October 18. Also scheduled on that date are Luc Besson's Malavita and Warner Bros.' Seventh Son.
Directed by Kimberly Peirce, Carrie stars ChloŽ Grace Moretz, Judy Greer, Portia Doubleday, Alex Russell, Gabriella Wilde, Ansel Elgort and Julianne Moore. In the film based on the best-selling novel by Stephen King, Carrie White (Moretz), a shy girl outcast by her peers and sheltered by her deeply religious mother (Julianne Moore), who unleashes telekinetic terror on her small town after being pushed too far at her senior prom.
Taking it's place on March 15 is thriller The Call, which was formerly titled "The Hive" and stars Halle Berry and Abigail Breslin.
Sony has also moved up George Clooney's Monuments Men two days to December 18 and has pushed back No Good Deed from an October 18 release to January 17, 2014.
