Paul Greengrass is attached to direct an untitled crime thriller with George Clooney signed on to both produce and play the lead. Variety has the news, saying that the script arrives from Argo screenwriter Chris Terrio.
Details are few, but the Sony Pictures film is said to take place in New York and focus on criminal syndicates.
The film will be a creative reunion of sorts for several members of the Argo team. In addition to Terrio and Clooney (who produced the Ben Affleck film), producer Grant Heslov is also attached, developing the project through his Smoke House pictures.
Next October sees the release of Greengrass' latest, Captain Phillips and it was recently rumored that he was interested in next tackling the Martin Luther King Jr. assassination tale, Memphis.
