David R. Ellis is attached to direct the horror thriller Sprawl, Deadline reports. Details are few as to the plot specifics, but the film will be produced by Jason Blum and his Blumhouse Pictures, responsible for projects like the Paranormal Activity franchise, The Bay, Sinister and Insidious.
Ellis is best known as the director of horror fare like Final Destination 2 and Snakes on a Plane. He most recently helmed Shark Night 3D.
Sprawl is slated to begin production in early 2013 and, the outlet suggests, may wind up receiving distribution through Universal Pictures.
