Tom Cruise is eyeing an original science fiction project called Our Name is Adam, Variety reports. There are no details on the plot as of yet, but the script arrives from T.S. Nowlin, best known for writing Agent 13, currently in development at Universal Pictures with Rupert Wyatt lined up to direct and Charlize Theron attached to star.

Mary Parent (Role Models, Pleasantville) will produce. She's currently working in the genre with Guillermo del Toro's Pacific Rim.

Cruise, meanwhile, can next be seen on the big screen in Christopher McQuarrie's Jack Reacher, landing in theaters on December 21st. A familiar face in science fiction with films like War of the Worlds and Minority Report, Cruise's upcoming slate includes next year's Oblivion from TRON: Legacy director Joseph Kosinski.
