Lionsgate has pushed back the release of Stuart Beattie's I, Frankenstein by seven months. It will now see release on September 13, 2013 rather than February 22, 2013.

Starring Aaron Eckhart, Socratis Otto, Yvonne Strahovski and Miranda Otto, the adaptation of Kevin Grevioux's graphic novel is a modern-day epic: Frankenstein's creature, Adam, has survived to present day due to a genetic quirk in his creation. Making his way to a dark, gothic metropolis, he finds himself caught in an all-out, centuries old war between two immortal clans.

Taking its February spot is Ric Roman Waugh's Snitch, starring Dwayne Johnson, Susan Sarandon, Barry Pepper and Benjamin Bratt.

Inspired by true events chronicled in a PBS "Frontline" documentary, Snitch centers on a devoted father whose son faces 30 years in prison after being set up in a drug deal. The father goes undercover in the drug world to make a bust that will free his son.

While the February date is currently free from competition, the September 13 release puts I, Frankenstein up against the just-delayed Battle of the Year and Walt Disney Pictures' re-release The Little Mermaid 3D.
